Any company that has a business need unique enough to require a custom software solution can use Edvantis’ service to get it done professionally - and your CFO will like the bottom line of the project, too. We know those couple of simple but crucial things that differentiate between success and failure of an outsourced software project. We leverage our unique methodology –
The Edvantis WaySM - to create product-quality solutions for specific needs of our clients.
Different phases of software engineering process are best tackled with the use of different development methodologies. While indeed XP-like or custom-tailored methodologies are often applied to testing or migration projects, Edvantis recommends using a RUP-compliant methodology in developing complex large solutions from scratch.
The Edvantis WaySM: Development of Software Solutions (TEW:DSS) is largely based on Rational Unified Process. It consists of a number of sequential stages and work activities/processes to be done within one or more stages. Some activities (as project management and quality assurance) occur at every stage.
Inception Stage is an initial phase in every new solution that Edvantis develops. Here we work together with our customer to define project scope and reach identical vision on the planned project. Project Vision document is composed on this stage.
On Elaboration Stage we gather business requirements from the customer and develop the Software Requirements Specification which is the main artifact in TEW:DSS. Here we do the bulk of analysis and design; as well, coding of key components is commenced at this stage to prove architectures and design.
The purpose of Construction Stage is to build on the design drafted at the Elaboration phase, and actually implement this design in software code. Normally, this stage is the most time and effort-consuming.
Transition Stage includes application deployment at the customer followed by support procedures. By default, Edvantis offers 6 months support of developed software solutions free of charge.
